Before the remodel, this returning client's bathroom was a dated, builder-grade space that hadn't been touched since the home was built. The cabinetry, countertop, and shower were functional but visually flat, with none of the character or finish quality found elsewhere in the client's home. The goal wasn't a full gut renovation, it was a smart, budget-conscious transformation that could still deliver a genuinely modern, sophisticated result.
After
First Finishers worked with the client to prioritize where the budget would have the most visual impact. The existing toilet was reinstalled rather than replaced, and the original cabinets were given a fresh coat of paint instead of full replacement, then topped with a remnant countertop, a practical choice that kept costs down without compromising the finished look.
The centerpiece of the remodel is the new Schluter system tile shower, built with framed partial glass, a linear black drain that matches the rain shower head, and upgraded hardware throughout. White tile baseboards ground the space, while a decorative statement tile on the shower floor and walls gives the bathroom its personality, tying the black-and-white palette together into a cohesive, monochromatic design. The result is a bathroom that reads as a full high-end renovation, achieved by spending strategically rather than replacing everything.
